Translations are normally invoiced by standard lines (50 – 55 characters) or rather the number of characters generated. We also offer for certain texts and languages reduced flat-rate prices. In order to make things as easy and clear as possible, we will also draw-up a quote for you.
No.
The standard lines are calculated by the PC counting programme adding up all the characters in the entire target text (translation). The standard line is usually calculated by adding the number of characters, and then by dividing by 55 or by a number between 50 and 55.
Yes!
Certified translations are completed by a translator certified in Germany.
Private customer principally pays in cash, cash-on-delivery or by payment in advance.
Regular customers, particularly authorities and companies pay by money transfer.
An Apostille in accordance with The Hague Agreement from 1961 ensures the authenticity of the signature applied to the document.
You are, for example, a foreign national and you would like to marry in Germany. For this you require several documents from your home country which must have an Apostille applied. You usually receive the Apostille directly at the responsible district court.
The document with the Apostille is then translated by an authorised translator in Germany and certified.
Attention: Foreign translations are not recognised in Germany.
If you require an Apostille for abroad, you can receive this as follows:
Registry Office documents → local/district government (needs to have the signature of the issuer and be certified)
Notary Public documents → District court (needs to have the signature of the Notary Public and be certified)
Certified translations → Local and district courts (needs to have the signature of the translator and be certified)
You normally get this information from the embassy of the country for which you require the document, (e.g. to study abroad → University/Technical College; marry abroad → foreign embassy)
